Pumpkin Carving

I got to carve a pumpkin. Always a pleasure to draw out my artistic side of me. I didn't draw any lines to assist me in carving this.

Tic Tac Toe Game

I decide to program a Tic Tac Toe game. I want to practice the AI aspect. As you can see below, the game is still very raw. The controls are a numpad numbering 1-9. There is no way to reset after the game is over. Only way to quit is to click on the red x at the top right of the window. It was a fun little project.

My Status Update

I have hurt my wrists and arms. This is the main reason for not posting any of my projects. I am in the process of getting them better. I hope to start up my projects again. Currently, I am just watching video to rest my wrists and arms.

Origami

I decide to go back and make some more origami. Always a fun hobby to do. I am still trying to figure how to do the folds perfectly.

P.S. Did I do these as last minute project? Yes, I did. Hard to maintain a blog entry daily. I think I will tone down to a few a week.

Dream Journal

I keep a dream journal of whatever I can remember to write in the morning. Sometimes, I wake up early in the morning with a great dream, but I am too tired to get up to write it down. Those gets forgotten. Here is a dream I had.

07/11/14
"People are living underground to escape enslavement. Two bystanders accidentally saw how to enter the underground world. The folks from the underground went and captured them. The two bystanders are assigned guards to watch them at all times."

I do not even understand my own dreams. I just write them down in the hope for the day to create these into movies or comics. If not, I can always use these to tell folks and observe their mixed reaction.

Negative Chair

Yeah, the name is strange one. I learn about negative spaces. I draw the spaces between and within the chair. Not sure entirely how this even works.

Disclaimer: I have been drawing off and on for many years. I would not say this first attempt would turn out this well if I had never drawn before. I am following through the book called, "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain." Of course, I am not willing to give this drawing at least a hour to do. I will choose to be a lazy artist.

Is this chair perfect? No way. I spent 45 minutes and I am not going to spend the last 15 minutes fixing this drawing. I am not on a good start of being an artist. I wonder if my brain will ever switch over to the right side of the brain. My left side brain hates being not in control. I wonder when will I be able to turn off the right side of the brain and draw for hours. Till then, I will draw until I am done drawing. My back hurt after this one. I should not have drawn while being on a bean bag.

The Black Monolith

Oh, you thought I meant Space Odyssey 2001? No, this is DragonFrame keyboard to be used with stop motion animation. With this keyboard and software (not displayed), I can use my computer to take pictures. The software can even control the camera. So cool. I am a kid on a bright Christmas day.

P.S. My younger brother introduce me to the movie Space Odyssey 2001. Yeah, I am pathetic.

Set Solver

Set is a card game where you need to find "three cards in which each of the card's features, looked at one-by-one, are the same on each card, or, are different on each card" (from Set's manual). I couldn't think of a better way to explain the goal of the game, except to use the manual.

When I get stuck on 12 cards, I can check with this program to see if any sets exist. I hope to see if I have any blind spots when I play this game. Time to get myself better at Set.

Lego Driving

After attempting to create a Lego figure walking and jumping, I realize I take walking and jumping for granted. My body seems to know how to walk and jump without much thinking. Now to put a daily activity to an inanimate object is hard.

Another issue is I am taking multiple photos without knowing if I have taken enough. Worst is when my figure seems to teleport between frames. When I bump the figure and try to place him back to where he started, I placed him in a different location. I cannot wait for my stop-motion animation software to come in the mail. Yes, I am using snail mail. I am still not sure why I couldn't be given a code and I download the software online. Sigh.

So I decided to change gears and do a driving video. Enjoy.
